#100happydays | Day 23 - June 5th 2014

Yesterday was The Night Before Our Stars event, which was seeing The Fault in Our Stars before it released today and the show included a livestream with a Q&A with John Green and the cast and some musical performances. I went with my best friends NikkiMichelle and Alysia :) We went pretty early to line up and it was kind of crazy, but overall, we got pretty good seats and we got a beautiful bracelet and a signed poster as gifts so that was pretty awesome. Overall, I LOVED the movie so much and I am thinking about writing a full review for it, comparing it to the book in terms of a book to movie adaptation. (I really want to see it a second time however, so it may have not be up soon). But overall, yesterday was pretty awesome. I had a lovely time, I got to see a movie version of a book I love so much, and most of all, I got to spend it all with my lovely friends. :)

Go see it this weekend if you haven't already, but please bring tissues! You will need them!

#100happydays | Day 22 - June 4th 2014

I saw Yann Tiersen and NO in concert on Wednesday at The Opera House in Toronto. I went with my best friend Nikki. It was a pretty small venue but it was nice, and overall the concert was really enjoyable. It was beautiful to see all the different instruments and the ambiance of all the songs was just so lovely. I really enjoyed seeing Yann Tiersen live! He even played three Amelie songs which was amazing to hear live!

#AYearAThon June - Rick Riordan | Update Day 2

Currently Reading:
  • The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan

Number of Pages Read for Day 2: 100 pages

Total Pages Read: 200 pages

With my school work, I have only been able to tackle about 100 pages a day, which isn't too bad. I am hoping to read more today, because I am really enjoying it so far. I am not a huge fan of Jason so far and I hope that will change, but that is honestly, because I just miss Percy so much as a protagonist. How are you doing so far with your reading and which Rick Riordan book are you reading?

Wishlist Wednesday #1

I follow Auggie Talk and I saw that there was this cool segment every Wednesday called Wishlist Wednesday and essentially, it is: "a weekly Meme where you list the one book you wish for the most!" I keep a personal wishlist myself that keeps track of all the books I want to buy, pre-orders to be on the lookout for, but that is private on chapters.ca, mostly for me to just keep track. But I thought this was so cool to include one thing each week that I've had my eye on for sometime! I will change one aspect though.. if I end up receiving it or buying it myself at some point, I will edit the post at the bottom and say that it has been acquired and if there is a review up.. I will link you to it. So for my first Wishlist Wednesday, I am going to be a book I have wanted for some time now and that is:

Baker takes the famous story Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen and offers the reader a perspective from the Bennett's servants. I think this is so Downton Abbey-esque, and it sounds super intriguing. I love the world of P&P and to be immersed in it again sounds so mesmerizing and enticing! It sounds like such a good read and has received many raved reviews, so I definitely want to read it at some point!

What book is currently on your wishlist? Let me know in the comments below!

Characters You Wish You Were More Like | Top 5 Wednesday

I love this week's theme so much. I am going to pick characters based on personality, but also based on their experiences and who I would essentially enjoy living vicariously through! Onto the choices:

1. Tris Prior from the Divergent series by Veronica Roth

Although, Tris resides in a crazy post-apocalyptic world which can be super terrifying at times, I don't mind. Tris is strong, brave and honest, all things I wish I could be more like. She is not only Divergent, but brave enough to join Dauntless.. and she succeeds at it. She is not the strongest to begin with, but she works hard and she genuinely strives to make good choices. She is definitely one of my most favorite female protagonists.

2. Anna from Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

Anna gets sent off to Paris for her final year of high-school and gets to experience the Parisian lifestyle and fall in love. If you know me, you know that I love all things Paris-related, so school abroad is definitely something I would like to experience. Anna is also really realistic in a sense, where she is human and makes mistakes, but she has such a big heart and is extremely empathetic and I want to be more like that, all the time and not just on occasions.

3. Hermione Granger from The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling

Hermione Granger, the brightest witch of her age. Who doesn't want to be more like her? She is brilliant, strong-willed, and just all around, amazing. For starters, she is a witch, so yes, I would very much like to be like that, but also, just how brilliant she is, and dedicated to her studies, is inspiring. She does not let that however get in the way of her family and friends, she puts the people she loves first always, even in scary and tough situations, she is incredibly brave and all around one of the best Gryffindors.

4. Rose Hathaway from The Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead

Rose Hathaway, dhampir and guardian to Lissa Dragomir. She is all around a serious bad-ass character. She is dhampir, so she is human with all the strength of a vampire, so she is incredibly strong. She has trained her entire life and is one of the best guardians there is. Her dedication to just improving her strength which is driven by her dedication to Lissa is outstanding and I wish I could be more dedicated like her. Also, she is one of the sassiest characters ever, ALL-THE-TIME. I think Rose is very strong-willed, but incredibly emotional which is a good thing. She cares for her family and friends so much and most of her actions are driven by her love for them and that fact itself is inspiring. I would also love to experience the things she has, fighting off Strigoi and travelling around!

5. Arya Stark from A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin

Arya Stark, one of my favorite characters of all time. I not only love Maisie Williams depiction of her on the TV series, but her chapters are by far my favorite ones to read in the series. She is just an amazing character. She is strong and brave and all-around bad-ass. Even from the beginning, she intrigued me, refusing to conform to being a "lady" and wanting to learn sword fight instead. She has experienced a lot of tragedy, and has grown from it and that level of strength is inspiring. I would love to be more like her everyday. Striving above all of the difficult times and getting stronger each and every single day from it.

Well that's it for me this week. Those are the top 5 characters I wish I was more like. How about you? Which top 5 characters would you choose? Let me know in the comments below! :)

#100happydays | Day 21 - June 3rd 2014

Today was a good mail day. I got a package from Book Outlet which I recently placed an order for. I saw books that have been on my wish list for some time now at bargain price, so I thought why not! I am so excited to read all of these since I have heard really good things about them all. And to top it all off, I got a coupon for my next order.. so there could be another order from them quite soon ;)

#100happydays | Day 20 - June 2nd 2014

I got a new daily planner and it is so lovely! I am so incredibly happy with it and I can't wait to start using it :)
