This past Sunday, I was lucky enough to attend Indigo's YA Preview, hosted by the folks who run Indigo Teen. It's always such a great time to get together with fellow bloggers and talk all things YA. They featured a ton of books for us to learn about and I'm going to share my most anticipated releases for the rest of this year and early next year. If there's anything I didn't touch on, I did tweet a lot a few days ago if you want to go back and check my archives. I will most likely be doing some more posts featuring lists as we gear up for the holiday season featuring a lot of the books that I won't mention today, so be on the lookout for that! Lastly, let me know below in the comments what books you are most looking forward to and why!
The Toll by Neal Shusterman - November 5, 2019
This should come as no surprise as I loved the first two books so much. This one is mahoosive and we got to see a sneak peek of some of the arcs at the office. I can't wait to get my hands on a finished copy of this and see how this all wraps up. The ending of Thunderhead was so intense that it left me reeling for the next one. This world that Shusterman has built is just so interesting and I'm a little sad to say goodbye to it in this final installment. If you are curious about the series, you can find my review for Scythe here, and Thunderhead here!

Dear Girls by Ali Wong - October 15, 2019
When the slide featuring this book came up, there were loud cheers that erupted in the room. I feel like everyone knows of Ali, and if you haven't, what are you waiting for? She's known for her hilarious Netflix specials, and also a recent movie called Always Be My Maybe with Randall Park. In this book, Ali writes everything in the format of letters to her daughters, and in those letters she talks about her thoughts on marriage, asian culture, mom lifestyle and more, and of course, she does it with her unique spin on it. I can't wait to check this out and I think I'll definitely opt for the audiobook version so I can hear her read it all!

Almost American Girl by Robin Ha - January 28, 2020
Tina spoke about this upcoming contemporary biography which follows a Korean girl who moves to Alabama and she mentioned she really enjoyed it. It tackles themes of bilingualism and identity. It definitely is also suitable for younger teens to read which is nice. I can't wait to read this more so because it follows Robin and her relationship with her mom, an only child and a single mom, which I feel like I can resonate with a lot. Not only will do I think this book will offer insight into life in Seoul, it will offer a look into life in Alabama. I love reading stories of displacement and seeing how characters overcome that gap. Lastly, the artwork looks beautiful, so I can't wait to see the final product!

The Gentleman's Guide to Getting Lucky by Mackenzi Lee - November 26, 2019
I remember reading The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue a few years back (review here) and just falling in love with the characters so much. I haven't picked up the sequel to it yet, but when I heard that this novella was coming out and it picks up shortly after the first book, I knew I had to had it. I mean come on, we finally get to see Monty and Percy as a couple and their adventures of travelling around Europe together. I'm so excited to see them both again and see how they are doing. I just loooooved these characters a lot so this is a delightful treat from Lee.

Persona 5 Vol. 1 by Hisato Murasaki - January 14, 2020
This is based on the popular video game Persona 5 - one of my favorite games ever. I just love the Persona series a lot in general and I'm always up for a manga adaptation of the game. I loved the anime series that came out after the game release so I'm sure this is another extra bit of the world that I'll surely enjoy. I can't wait to return to this world and be reunited with all the characters such as Akira and Ryuji (my best boi, Ryuji!!). I'm so excited that this is going to be the start of a new series and I can't wait to collect them all.

Imagine Me by Tahereh Mafi - March 31, 2020
I cannot contain my level of excitement for this book. I absolute love the SHATTER ME series so much. I still remember reading this series years ago and it was unlike anything I've ever read before. In a way, it really spoke to the romance reader side of me. Warner is the original book boyfriend for me. I even remember starting out and using hashtags for him: #warner #warnergetshisowntag. This is the final installment and I'm so bittersweet about it. On one hand, we get more of this beautiful world and the characters, but on the other hand, I don't want to say goodbye. I definitely want to do a re-read of the whole series to gear up for this release. Can't wait! *High-pitched screaming*
