*Each Bishop Brothers novel is an interconnected standalone*

Alex Bishop is your typical cowboy.
Charming, sexy, and wears a panty-melting smirk.
Working on the ranch helped build his solid eight-pack and smoking body. He’s every girl’s wet fantasy and he knows it too. Alex doesn’t follow the rules of your typical playboy bachelor. After wining and dining his dates and giving them the best night of their lives, he always sends flowers and calls the next day—even if it’s to say, let’s just be friends. His mama taught him manners after all and his southern blood knows how to be a gentleman. Still, that isn’t enough to tame the wildest of the Bishop brothers.

River Lancaster has finally met the man of her dreams. Too bad after six months of romantic bliss, she finds out he’s married. With a broken heart and blind rage, she books herself a ticket to Key West, Florida. Tired of cheaters and liars, she’s set on escaping to forget he ever existed. Who needs a man when there’s an all-you-can-drink margarita bar, anyway? That’s what she tells herself until she bumps into the right guy who can make all those bad memories disappear.
Even if it’s only temporarily.

Two weeks on the beach is what they both need. No strings attached, no expectations, no broken hearts. Too bad the universe has other plans—one that’ll change the entire course of their lives in just nine short months.

**A complete standalone contemporary romance with a little southern drama**

I seriously love it when Kennedy Fox get together to write a book. I've become addicted to their writing and I just love the way they always surprise me. I'm not one for cowboy romances typically, but they definitely have changed my tune. The first of the Bishop Brothers series, follows Alex Bishop, youngest of the bunch, who just wants to have fun and isn't ready to settle down. If you've read the Checkmate Duet series, you'll know that this spin-off follows Courtney's brothers and their respective stories in Texas. After finishing this book, I immediately wanted to make travel plans to both Key West and Texas. The story is told in two parts: the first part is where Alex meets River in Key West, and the second part is when they realize that their two weeks of no strings attached actually comes with something more. I loved the first part of the book so much because it establishes the characters early on. I loved seeing their relationship with their friends and how hardworking they both are. The vacation was their opportunity to relax and the first morning when they meet over brunch is just hilarious. I loved seeing them learn more and more about one another as they spent more time together in those two weeks. You can tell immediately that they have a special connection and it was really nice to see that transfer over in the second part of the book. I loved seeing them come together in preparation for their little one, but I loved seeing them fall in love again. You also get realistic reactions to what happens which is nice. Not everything is fine and dandy in the beginning, but they both find their footing. I loved seeing how the other brothers were around River and how they worked to make her comfortable as well. Just guys, I love the Bishop family. Can they please adopt me? (I can't wait for the next three books!) River is a fantastic female lead and I just love that she's super straight forward and voices her concerns whenever she has them. She's been burned too many times so you can see her hesitation towards certain things, but she is so strong. You learn a bit about why she chose her specific career path and it definitely tugs at the heart strings. As for the male lead, Alex is incredibly swoon-worthy and he just says all the right things at the right time, not for some ulterior motive, but just because that's how he is. He has definitely stolen my heart in terms of the guys KF writes! If you are a fan of cowboy romances, this is THE cowboy romance book to read. If you aren't (like I wasn't to begin with), this book will definitely change your mind. There's everything in a KF book that you could ask for: steamy and swoony moments, friendship, family, and just a really good love story. So what are you waiting for? Go on and pick up the book to meet the first of the Bishop brothers ;)

My rating of the book: ✮✮✮✮ (5/5 stars)
