I think I'm a complete sucker for marriage of convenience stories.I was instantly intrigued by the premise because I loved marriage of convenience stories before like L.J. Shen's Sparrow and/or Christina Lauren's Sweet Filthy Boy. This one is no different. I immediately empathized with Teagan because she's a spitfire but a genuinely good person who gives her all when she loves. She finds herself having the worst day after being fired from her job, catching her long-term boyfriend cheating on her in their apartment, when she rear-ends the very handsome Corbin Lane. She thinks she is completely screwed with no job, no home, and having to pay for the damages to his care. He offers her an alternative that she can't quite refuse. Corbin, on the other hand, has learned upon burying his grandmother who he loved, that she has a stipulation in her will in order for him to inherit everything: get married, fall in love in six months, and stay together for two years. He finds Teagan and decides to offer her because of the instant attraction, but also because he can tell from a mile away that she isn't someone who is simply after his money. I loved how they get immersed in one another's worlds. They learn what each others dreams are and learn about their past. I really liked the back story for Corbin and learning about his relationship with his grandma, and why he has such a difficult time with his dad. I also really liked seeing his friendship with his best friends Caitlin and Trey. I loved the build up to their relationship and seeing them fall for one another. It was such a sweet and swoony romance. I think what I really liked about this book was seeing Corbin come to the realization of how much he cared for Teagan. Overall, I really enjoyed it and I would highly recommend it! I definitely want to check out other books by Stacey Lynn now!
