Frenzy Presents Fall Preview | September 10, 2017

Hi everyone! I hope that you are all having a great week. I recently attended another book preview and I wanted to share with you all what happened and some exciting upcoming YA releases. The event was hosted by the lovely folks at HCCFrenzy (many thanks to Ashley for the lovely invite). I always look forward to the Frenzy events because they honestly put on such a good time for us bloggers with so many treats, special guest authors, and its just a nice way to spend a Sunday catching up with fellow book bloggers.

They had the place decked out and I especially loved the book themed bunting they had around! Also that spread of snacks was glorious. I loved how they had ketchup chips after seeing Julie Murphy & Angie Thomas raving about them!

Some of my most anticipated reads for the Fall/Winter include:

  • They Both Die At The End by Adam Silvera - For fans of Before I Fall & If I Stay. Matteo & Rufus connect with one another to spend the day together before they both die. I already know my heart is going to break with this one.
  • This Darkness Mine by Mindy McGinnis - Ok, this sounds pretty weird - it is a twisted thriller about how the protagonist absorbed her own twin and now the twin starts taking over? I've officially dubbed this one the womb baby book. A few of my friends have already read and raved about this one so I cannot wait to dig into it.
  • Love, Life, and the List by Kasie West - the girls at HCC simply said "so cute!" and I was in. It tackles serious issues such as one of the character's mom being agoraphobic. There is also some art involved.
  • Three Sides of A Heart by Various YA authors - 16 authors collaborating on a different love triangle. Many genres covered, not just contemporary (zombies and dystopians are a few).
  • Zenith by Sasha Alsberg and Lindsay Cummings - pure space opera. Epic sci/fi and good for fans of Firefly. There are space pirates and some steamy romance! Sign me up!

They had these blind book dates and it was such a unique and special idea.

The cookies were almost too good to eat. They were designed after the three books of the guest authors that were present!

We were so lucky to meet the three guests of honour: Julie Murphy, Becky Albertalli, and Angie Thomas. I was especially excited to meet Angie and Becky because I LOVED their two books so much. If you want to see my full reviews for The Upside of Unrequited and The Hate U Give, just click the book titles. I still need to read Ramona Blue but I've heard only good things about it. It was truly a special experience to hear them all talk about the upcoming movie adaptations for their books and their writing process. I have such admiration for all three ladies and I'm so glad I got the chance to meet them.

We also went home with some pretty amazing swag bags and my goodness, we were overly spoiled. I'm so excited that I got most of the books I was intrigued about and I can't wait to start reading them and review them on the blog for you all.

Once again, many thanks to HCCFrenzy for inviting me to another Frenzy Presents. I had an amazing time and goodness, I am so excited to dig into all these amazing books!
