[Blog Tour] Little Lies by H. Hunting

“H. Hunting pens a heartbreaking tale that leave readers absolutely breathless from beginning to end. One of her best books yet!”
- Stacey Lynn, author

Little Lies, an all-new, angsty and emotional new adult romance from New York Times bestselling author Helena Hunting writing as H. Hunting is out now!

I don’t want you.
You mean nothing to me.
I never loved you.
I turned my words into swords.
And I cut her down.
Shoved the blade in and watched her fall.
I said I’d never hurt her, and I did.
Years later, I’m faced with all the little lies, the untruths, the false realities, the damage I inflicted, when all I wanted was to indulge my obsession.
Lavender Waters is the princess in the tower. Even her name is the thing fairy tales are made of.
I used to be the one who saved her.
Over and over again.
But I don’t want to save her anymore.
I just want to pretend the lies are still the truth.

Review:

Do you have an author who is an auto-buy and you just adore their writing so much? Helena Hunting is one of those authors for me. Her books always put me in such a good mood, and in many ways, her books are one of the reasons why I love reading romance books so much. She builds these incredible characters who are so lovable, and she is able to write relationships that just make your heart swell. I just love how she always shows loving and healthy relationships between her leads, and in a funny way, I see a lot of my own marriage in the characters she writes.

For Little Lies, I was excited because it was the perfect cross-over for her two series: Pucked and All In. It is however a New Adult, which to be fair, I don't read a lot of. I knew I would love this book because it was Helena, but I didn't know how much I would love it. This book exceeded all my expectations. I knew it was going to be angsty, but I didn't account for my heart feeling tight in moments of angst between the two leads Lavender and Kodiak - it was like the perfect among of angst. There was so much in this book, and I really like the concept of meeting your soulmate before you even know what that is. Lavender and Kodiak have known each other their whole life, and both have anxiety. Lavender from a childhood traumatic incident, which Kodiak saved her from, and Kodiak has his own anxieties which include being a perfectionist. It brought about this cycle of dependency that just wasn't healthy when they were younger. They meet years later, and it's clear that they both love one another, and I just loved seeing them fall back together. Seeing them see one another for the versions of themselves they are years later was so great. What you have is two people who love each other so much, but needed to figure themselves out first so they can love one another. Their story was heart wrenching, but incredibly sweet and heartwarming.

Along with this, we got to see character favorites we know from Pucked and All In. Loved seeing Violet and Alex again, and as parents!! Especially how Alex has a marshmallow face and gets all soft and sweet with his kids. Loved seeing Rook, Lainey, Queenie, and Randy too!! And from there to see the other "kids" from the couples of the series too. I especially loved getting to know Lavender's twin, River, and how his story was intertwined with this one a bit too, and just a bit about Maverick who is Lavender's older brother and Kodiak's best friend. OH! and I loved Lavender's cousin, BJ. He just cracks me up and I really hope that we will get his story one day! All in all, it's everything you want and more from Helena: angsty, sweet, and sexy!

If I could hug this book, I would!! <3
