[Release Blitz] Baby Yours by Kennedy Fox - Review

The worst day of my life happened when Brandon died.
We had our entire future mapped out.
Careers, marriage, kids—in that order.
Then the universe threw a curveball and ended it all.

As I come to terms with everything, I learn I’m carrying his baby. Now I’m living with his roommate, the guy who’s made my life a living hell the past two years. Hunter’s now the one to hold me up when all I want to do is fall.

Knowing my religious parents will never accept the pregnancy out of wedlock, Hunter offers to be my fake husband. While I think he’s gone crazy, it’s the only plan that’ll keep them in my life. So I do whatever it takes to make our relationship believable—kissing, touching, even letting him hold me when we sleep. The lines are so blurred neither of us want to admit we’re no longer pretending.

The guilt of what we’re doing eats me alive as I struggle to deal with my emotions. I push him away, but he pulls me closer, showing me how he’s always felt.

Just as I begin to follow my heart, I learn Hunter’s been keeping secrets.
And I’m left to make the hardest decision of my life…

**This is book 2 in the Hunter & Lennon duet and must be read after Baby Mine. Recommended for ages 18+**

My Review:

To recap, the first book in this duet was titled Baby Mine, and if you'd like to see my full review for that, be sure to click here! The ending of that book had me reeling and I am so grateful that I didn't have to wait too long between books to see what happens next for Lennon and Hunter. As they were headed out to the airport, Jenna, a character I didn't mention in my previous review ended up at the front door claiming she was pregnant and the child was Hunter's. Hunter and Jenna had hooked up a few times while Brandon was alive, but he never wanted anything more in terms of a relationship. Hunter is also adamant that the child is not his, but mistakes can happen. With all this drama, they also have to fake their marriage to Lennon's super religious parents. While "acting" and "pretending" it appears everyone around them can see that they have feelings for each other, but Lennon. To Hunter, even though it's pure torture, it's all real to him and the scene when he lays it all bare for her absolutely wrecked me. He's such a good guy and the lengths he is willing to go to prove it really make my heart swell. You got to see them have their happily ever after and just finally admit to all those feelings. They both learned to also overcome the guilt regarding Brandon, because I'm sure he didn't want either of them to live unhappily for the rest of their lives. I also really liked that Fox established the friendship groups a lot more in this book in terms of mixing Hunter's two good friends, Mason and Liam, and Lennon's sisters, Maddie and Sophie. They always do a good set-up for the next duet to come in the series and I'll be over here eagerly waiting for it because it sounds intense! Also.. you get to see Sav and Hayden from Forever Mine pop up this book which was a nice surprise!! I'm sad that Lennon and Hunter's story is over, but I loved it. I used to think that Kayla and Logan's story (from their Checkmate Duet stories) was my favorite of theirs, but this one has definitely won the spot. If you are a fan of the roommate trope but also the fake dating trope, this is definitely one for you. It's not traditional either because it deals with the death of a loved one in a very intense and dark way, but it includes all the things that make romance books best: sexy moments, an emphasis on friendship and family, and a super swoony lead ;)

My rating of the book: ✮✮✮✮✮ - 5/5 stars
