Bout of Books 10 | Day 4 Update

Books I am currently reading:
  • Rebel Heart by Moira Young
Total # of pages read today: 53

Books I completed reading:
  • Blood Red Road by Moira Young
  • Loki: Agent of Asgard - Issue #004
  • Serenity: Leaves on the Wind - Issue #004
Total # of pages read overall: 564

Yesterday was a pretty busy day too and I was feeling quite tired from the events of the previous day, so I was only able to read two comic book issues and I fell asleep before I could read more of Rebel Heart. I am hoping to get a lot of reading done today since I only finished one book so far and we are already at day five and that is really little compared to my last bout of books. It is also a long weekend, and I don't have much planned so a lot more time for reading.

How are you doing with the read-a-thon?

#100happydays | Day 2 - May 15th 2014

I had a relatively calm day today reading some comic book issues I recently bought with my bestie Nikki. I had to drop her off at home but before that we went to Five Guys Burgers and Fries. I love that place! It does not look all that appealing, but it was delicious.

#100happydays | Day 1 - May 14th 2014

I have decided to participate in the #100happydays challenge and you can read about all the details http://100happydays.com/ :) I will be posting these photos mostly on my instagram which you can follow me under the username @soufflegrl! But I also will be posting the photos in a blog post form on here. I will ALWAYS take a picture the day of, but to make the blog post, it may not show up until the morning after or the day after, but I will always try for the same day.

To start us off.. I am going to talk about yesterday, the day I met Tom Hiddleston.

If you know me, then you will know that he is basically my favourite human being ever. I absolutely adore him and admire him so much and I knew he's been filming in the Toronto/GTA area for quite some time now, but with school & work, I haven't been able to come out to find him. My bestfriend Nikki and I made the road trip to Hamilton (we left the house at 7am) hoping to see him, but they weren't actually filming there until today. One of the crew members let it slip to me where they were actually filming, and it is irony since, it is basically 2 minutes away from where I go to school. We drove there and we saw the signs. We saw Tom as he came back and forth from break (and we obviously had to contain our fan girl selves) and then the rain hit.. so that was super depressing for a moment because it was thundershowers and we were worried we wouldn't see him again. On his way home, he called us over and said he brought out headshots for us to sign, which was AMAZING. He personalized them, I got to give him some cards I wrote for him (cheesy I know) and we chatted for a little in the rain, so that was lovely.

All in all, it was an amazing day, one I will never forget.. and most of all, I am happy I got to share that special moment with my best friend Nikki  :)

So anyways, from now on, you can find all of these #100happydays post on my instagram like I mentioned, but also here under the tag 100happydays, and there will be a link in the top bar for all of the posts. I hope you can follow me on this journey! :) I will try to do 100 days in a row, so wish me luck, and I just want to say now that I won't always include text/description with the picture.

Bout of Books 10 | Day 3 Update

Books I am currently reading:

  • Rebel Heart by Moira Young
Total # of pages read today: 52

Books I completed reading:
  • Blood Red Road by Moira Young
Total # of pages read overall: 511

Yesterday was not a really good reading day for me, since I was only able to read a few pages in the morning. I was out all day, and the reason of that you will find out soon in a new series on my blog, but I have started the next book in Moira Young's series and I am really enjoying that there is Jack's perspective already and it is shifting to Saba's perspective to, so awesome! :D Can't wait to read more of it today and I hope to finish it today too since my boutofbooks is off to a bit of a slow start compared to the last one.

How is your reading going?

Magical Items | Top 5 Wednesday

So, this is a starting trend on booktube and bookblogs recently, so I thought I'd join in on it. There is a topic for every wednesday and you list your top 5 of "______". You can check out the goodreads group here where all the topics are listed. To start off.. it is top magical items! :D

1. One Ring from J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings Trilogy & The Hobbit
It is THE ring. I mean, how can you not include this in your top 5?

2. Riptide from Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson & The Olympians series
When it isn't a powerful sword, it takes the form of a ballpoint pen. How awesome is that!

3. The Elder Wand from J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series
It is THE wand of all wands. And it looks good too!

4. The Invisibility Cloak from J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series.
Who wouldn't want an invisibility cloak? You can go anywhere undetected!

5. Remembrall from J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series.
I remember this from the first movie and how Neville needed it. This is such a cool concept and I realyl wish it existed. It would do wonders used with a calendar!

That is it for this week's Top 5 Wednesday. I hope you enjoyed this instalment and I will see you next week! :D
